Atiq Khan
As one of the co-founders of Synaptix AI, Atiq brings an unwavering commitment to Artificial Intelligence and data science to the consultancy. Holding a Master's in Artificial Intelligence and a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Software Development, he possesses a strong foundation in theory and application.
His academic achievements encompass extensive research on Gaussian-based models for time-series forecasts, yielding invaluable insights into predicting patients' mental well-being. Additionally, Atiq's innovative spirit drove the development of an impactful IoT-based model, that benefits patients with osteoarthritis.
As a Chartered Engineer, his expertise in AI shines through in collaborative projects, where he excels in predictive analytics for vehicle fleet management and precise text classification. Notably, Atiq has developed exceptional predictive analytics models, accurately forecasting part failure in vehicles, and empowering businesses with proactive maintenance strategies.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Atiq has played a pivotal role in impactful consultancy projects. He assisted a local governing authority in a consultancy-based position, providing strategic guidance on AI utilisation in diverse sectors. This included delivering comprehensive roadmaps and educational sessions for non-technical stakeholders and aligning solutions with organisational goals.
Furthermore, Atiq is actively engaged in philanthropic activities, having participated in a charity boxing match to raise funds for Palestine and Gaza (Details here). This reflects his commitment to social responsibility and making a positive impact beyond the realm of AI.
Dr. Ioannis Kypraios
Dr. Ioannis Kypraios holds a BEng in Computer Systems Engineering with First-Class honors and an MSc in Modern Digital Communication Systems with distinction. He pursued his Doctorate (DPhil) at the University of Sussex, supported by an EU Bursary, focusing on Fully Robust Digital-Optical Object Recognition Systems.
With over 20 years of professional experience in both industry and academia, Dr. Kypraios is globally recognised as an expert in Computing and Artificial Intelligence. His research has secured nearly £1 million in funding over the past decade, primarily in AI and digital healthcare technologies.
His current research interests revolve around Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with applications in Digital Healthcare Technologies (Translational Medicine), Sustainable Development, and Intelligent Vehicles & Transport.
Dr. Kypraios has worked at various prestigious institutions, including the University of Sussex, University of Oxford, University of Ghent (Belgium), Anglia Ruskin University, and De Montfort University. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Northeastern University.
In March 2014, Dr. Kypraios transitioned to industry as a Senior Research Scientist and Technical Lead for autonomous and semi-autonomous driving vehicles at Continental ADAS SV Systems in Lewes, UK. Later, in December 2015, he assumed the role of Senior Research Scientist at FotoNation (formerly known as Tessera Holding Corporation). Previously, his research in digital healthcare technologies received funding from Teledyne FLIR Intelligent Systems.
From 2020 to 2022, Dr. Kypraios co-directed the translational medicine Centre for Primary Care Research (CfPCR) in partnership with Willows Health (NHS).
He has an extensive publication record, with over 40 papers in peer-reviewed international conferences and journals, including IEEE Proceedings, EURASIP, Optical Society of America (OSA) Applied Optics Journal, and SPRINGER Informatics and Multimedia Special Series. Additionally, he has authored or contributed to 2 patents, presented his research at various exhibitions and seminars worldwide, including MIT, USA, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden, Karolinska Institute, Sweden, and the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2021, he spoke on a panel titled "Trust Deficit: Overcoming Ethical Questions Around AI During COVID" at the DTX AI & Data Analytics Mini Summit. In 2022, he was invited to speak at the National Software Testing Conference (NSTC-2022) in London, where he discussed "AI in modern business environments: Testing and Trust."
